WHERE DO DONATION GO

Every donation to The Big Brother Project is stewarded with care and used to directly support our mission of mentoring and supporting young men. We believe transparency builds trust, and we are committed to using all funds responsibly and intentionally.

CURRENT USE OF DONATIONS (important)

As a nonprofit in formation, early donations help lay the foundation necessary to operate safely, legally, and effectively.

During this stage, funds are used for:

Nonprofit formation and legal filing (including 501(c)(3) registration)
Program development and curriculum creation
Background checks, training materials, and safety infrastructure
Technology and tools (website, software, communication platforms)
Marketing and outreach to reach families, volunteers, and youth
Administrative expenses required to operate responsibly

These expenses ensure that programs launch with integrity, structure, and accountability.

PROGRAM FUNDING (as we grow)

As funding increases, donations will directly support youth and families through:

Mentorship Programs
- Group mentorship programs and workshops
- One-to-one Personal Big Brother matches
- Volunteer training and ongoing oversight
Direct Youth Support
- School supplies and educational resources
- Extracurricular activities, sports, and enrichment programs
- Tutoring and academic support
- Counseling or therapy referrals when appropriate
Volunteer & Mentor Support
- Reimbursement for mentorship-related expenses
- Training and development for mentors
- Program supervision and quality assurance

SCHOLARSHIPS & LONG-TERM INVESTMENT

As financial capacity grows, The Big Brother Project plans to offer:

Educational scholarships
Trade, college, and career readiness support
Leadership development opportunities

These investments are designed to create long-term outcomes for our students! This is our long-term vision but we believe we will grow to the point that we'll be able to provide these type of resources.

ORGANIZATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY

To ensure consistent, high-quality programming, a portion of donations supports organizational sustainability, including:

Staff and leadership compensation
Program coordination and oversight
Accountability systems and reporting

This allows the organization to operate full-time, maintain standards, and serve youth reliably.

OUR COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY

We are committed to:

Tracking and documenting all expenditures
Using funds exclusively for mission-aligned purposes
Providing updates to supporters as the organization grows

Once our 501(c)(3) status is approved, we will continue to improve reporting and financial transparency.
