WHO DO WE HELP?

WHO DO WE HELP?

The Big Brother Project exists to support boys and young men who are growing up with limited access to consistent, positive male mentorship.

We serve youth across elementary, middle, and high school, particularly in communities where guidance, resources, and support are not always readily available.

Adolescence is the most formative years of their development, when guidance, presence, and healthy examples of manhood matter most.

Our focus is on prevention, development, and long-term impact—not punishment, correction, or crisis response. We meet boys where they are and walk alongside them as they grow.

Our programs are designed to meet boys where they are, provide age-appropriate mentorship, and support families and schools in helping young men grow into responsible, confident adults.

THE BOYS WE SERVE

We serve boys from elementary school through high school, particularly those who may benefit from additional mentorship, encouragement, and support outside of the home.

Many of the boys we serve are navigating:

  • Single-parent households or limited access to positive male figures

  • Inconsistent guidance or support structures

  • Social, emotional, or academic challenges

  • Questions around identity, confidence, and responsibility

  • Cultural pressures surrounding masculinity and expectations of manhood

These circumstances do not define a child—but they do shape their environment. Our role is to provide steady presence, healthy relationships, and examples of what responsible manhood looks like.

AGE-APPROPRIATE SUPPORT

Our programs are designed to adapt to the developmental needs of boys at different stages of life.

  • Elementary School Boys

    • At this stage, boys benefit most from consistency, encouragement, and trust. We focus on building safe relationships, positive self-esteem, and foundational character through presence and example.

  • Middle School Boys

    • Middle school is often marked by identity exploration, peer pressure, and emotional change. We provide mentorship that emphasizes accountability, emotional awareness, and healthy decision-making.

  • High School Boys

    • As boys prepare for adulthood, our focus shifts toward responsibility, purpose, leadership, and direction. Mentorship at this stage emphasizes life skills, personal growth, and long-term thinking.

COMMUNITIES WE SUPPORT

The Big Brother Project works primarily in communities where access to mentorship, resources, and consistent support is limited. We partner with schools, families, and local institutions to provide support that is structured, responsible, and aligned with each community’s needs.

Our goal is not to replace families or schools, but to support them by offering positive male engagement where it is most needed.

WHO ELSE WE SUPPORT

While our programs center on boys and young men, the impact extends beyond the individual.

We also support:

  • Parents and guardians seeking positive influences for their sons

  • Schools looking for structured mentorship and male involvement

  • Communities investing in prevention, development, and long-term outcomes

We believe strong boys grow into strong men, and strong men strengthen families and communities.

OUR BELIEF

We believe every boy deserves access to guidance, encouragement, and examples of healthy manhood—regardless of background or circumstance.

When boys are supported early, consistently, and intentionally, the outcomes change not just for them, but for everyone around them!
